Why Coming Together Drives Success

Based on our experiences, women entrepreneurs see the world through a different lens and, in turn, do things differently (to my three brothers and three sons: not better, just differently).

LUBO was inspired by a growing desire to surround myself with like minded creatives in an organized environment. After speaking to fellow female entrepreneurs in the Santa Cruz area about the idea of LUBO, I quickly realized that creating a networking platform to learn from one another and utilize each other's skill sets was a collective desire. For the past three months I have set out on a journey to learn more about the benefits of bringing the creative feminine together in one place for the greater good of our individual companies. Here is what I have found...

Most of us entrepreneurs often love the creative side of our businesses but can sometimes struggle with the pressure of learning everything there is to know about running a well rounded, successful company.

A network serves as a means for individuals to come together to exchange ideas and information (from a feminine perspective in our case), enabling us to contribute to, and pull from, the collective group to accomplish what we may be unable to on our own.

Forums like these encourage engaging with one another on topics such as how to establish a personal brand, how to negotiate more successfully, how to be more effective at social media, how to improve presence, how to increase resilience and individuality... the list goes on and on.

Research shows that one of the “unwritten rules” of progressing in business has been a strong network - within your workplace and, very powerfully, outside as well. Belonging to a community of like minded creatives will bring to light the different ways we have individually learned to run a business, ultimately providing us with a broader understanding of growth and success.

Trustworthy Advice

There is no better advice than that from someone who has been there, done that; especially when it comes to running a business. If you surround yourself with those who have vastly different experiences, you give yourself the invaluable gift of knowledge. You don't always have to take someone's advice, but knowing that it's there is extremely beneficial.

Whether you agree with it or not, advice is information which can help us learn and gain insights into what we're doing well and what we can improve on.

Meaningful Collaboration

Recently, I found myself searching for a photographer, someone to help with rebranding my business and a new logo design. What I realized is that I didn't have to look far - all of this exists within my personal network and rather than outsourcing the work to someone I don't know, I have the unique opportunity to collaborate with people who already have a pulse on my business.

Whether you're working on your website, curating a business plan, or struggling with the correct way to file your business taxes - having a place to collaborate with other creatives means that you’ll always have someone to springboard ideas off of and an abundance of talented people to ask for guidance when you need it.

Heartfelt Encouragement

To be vulnerable is in our nature, yet our ability to maintain this state of understanding can often be stifled or pushed down as we venture deeper into the world of business. You may think that you have to be tough in order to succeed. Or, if you allow yourself to feel doubt or fear, it will mean that you aren't cut out for the hard-nosed business world. Intuitively, we understand the power of encouragement by nurturing individual talents and raising others up. By periodically surrounding yourself with feminine energy we reintroduce ourselves to the power of encouragement and remember to find strength in our emotions rather than push them away.

A true sense of belonging

Humans are social creatures. Our motivation, health and happiness are inextricably tied to the feeling that we belong to a greater community who shares common interests, values, aspirations and life priorities. By joining an organized group you create a true sense of belonging as well as a place to receive support - this can be a potent way to empower yourself and achieve more effective results within your business.

Let Us Be One

These words serve as a reminder that we don't have to do everything on our own. Through LUBO's Instagram feed (and now through this website) I have a daily reminder of the immense amount of talent within our community of female Santa Cruz creatives. Imagine the positive impact we could have on each other (and others) as a collective group. #happyheart

What are your expectations for LUBO? Do you imagine yourself being a part of a larger community of creative entrepeneurs? As always we are highly interested in hearing from you.
